Montirius is situated in the southern Rhône Valley at the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail, a 140 acre domain with vine classifications in Vacqueyras, Gigondas and Côtes du Rhône that has been converted to Bio-Dynamic culture since 1996.  The Saurel family has been farming this land for a 5 generations. It's origins date back to the mid 20th century. Currently, Eric and Christine Saurel are the family proprietors along with their children:

MON (Manon) – TI (Justine) – RIUS (Marius). 

 

Montirius is the 1st Bio-Dynamic Southern Rhône Valley Estate. In order to let the Terroir and the specificity of each plot express itself in their wines, they only use concrete vats without interior lining.
